DanTwoLakes Some of them used a separate bolt and nut, too. I did this '55 Town Sedan about two years ago, and I can't remember. I know it wasn't hard to get the seat out. This one was done using fabric original to the car.

OneMoreTime Look under the car..some of those used a welded stud and the nut is on the underside of the car..

1955 Fairlane Front Bench Seat Removal?

Hello all.

I'm in the process of removing the ratty interior from my 55 Fairlane 4 Door and I am stuck removing the front bench seat.

I found the bracket bolt on each side on the rear, however I can not see what is holding the bench sliders to the brackets on the floor. It LOOKS like there might be a bolt on the floor I can remove, but it's square shaped and I suspect that it is a welded retainer nut.

Anyone?
