|ap72||The notch size is nothing special, every combo will want something different, especially depending on what carb is on top. Btw some people fill in that notch and get better results... As already noted its not easily filled and may NOT be a good move. I'd try a half inch spacer if space is tight.|

I have one for a BBC. The notch is 2.44 X .4 deep.

I first had a 1" open spacer on my AirGap but as I had room I went to a 2" open.
Previously I had tried a 1" four holer, the idle was terrible.

Reducing the plenum divider has a much more profound effect on the low speed and midrange drivability that you will feel, than
any gain at the top end , that you probabily will never actually realize a actual performance gain.
Test with a carb spacer FIRST. Best at the drag strip, where you can get real +/- performance data.
The right air cleaner will make more difference.
The best carb spacers are made of WOOD. Edelbrock makes many wood ones in different styles.
You can fabricate your own, too.

If you had the correct low profile drop base air cleaner (or at least the right base) you would have room.
There is a BIG difference. It does more than just make for more hood clearance too.

If you have a non air gap RPM manifold do not carve the plenum divider.
Just try a open spacer. The effect is the same, and easily reversable.
Carving the plenum divider is not.

Performer RPM Air-Gap plenum notch
If anybody out there has a Performer RPM Air-Gap laying around, can you measure the length and depth of the plenum divider notch? Would really appreciate it.
