|deadbodyman||I just got back from a much needed 2 week vacation. I'll get the thread updated soon but all the sheet metal is on and gapped I ended up getting a couple used OEM fenders to save time,they've been stripped and epoxied and are on the car.|

door to 1/4 gap
shows the door all the way back, just barely touching the 1/4. and how the lines match up, I want to see how well the door actually fits the 1/4, it looks good ,now I want to slide the door forward and get my gap.

In the pics above the first one shows the hinge holes wallowed out from round to oval ,this allows the doors to be slid back more to close up the factorys 3/8" gap... ALL the holes on all the hinges get this done.Now the door can go all the way back until its touchng the 1/4...
I wanted to have the door setting in the hole but with nothing connected so I came up with this and it'll only work on these cars. I removed the door again,then set a stack of paint sticks in the jamb for the door to sit on.theres a stack of three "I think" at the front and the back for the door to sit on and be nice and parellel to the rocker but they'll just fall right out as soon as I try to get the door back in its hole so I used the small vice grip clamps to hold them there....But more important is the clamp itself will keep the door in the jamb so it wont fall out and on the floor they also make putting the door in the hole very EZ ...right now I just want to see how the door fits in the hole...
3rd pic shows the body lines telling me the door needs to go up... just concentrate on the body lines lineing up not the gap itself being tight at the bottom and wider at the top,just the lines.....so I brought up the door by adding one paint stick but in order to keep the rocker gap right I have to also add one to the front ,raising the whole door not just the back...(pic4)
this one shows I did all rocker gap and door hight without anything holding the door on, no bolts ,nothing...the whole door can slide freely back and forth I just hold it there with one hand when its ready I put a couple bolts in the top hinge with just a couple threads,this keeps the door from falling out when I let go (also pic #1)....Thats was the EZ part,now its time to tackle the door to 1/4 gap...

You need to talk to the owner and SELL all that cool stuff you have and never use...
I think what I like best of this tool is the reach it has ,I can get way down where the bottom is with little effort and it zips right along too...

|deadbodyman||It does look better but I'm trying NOT to fall in love with this car...Although I AM growing quite fond of her...She likes to fight me every chance she gets and shes very stuburnd but shes finally coming around to my way of thinking.I think she just got lazy ,sitting around doing nothing day after day....but shes getting a complete makeover and I do believe shes ready for a night out on he town....and getting a little attention....high maintaince though....and needs constant attention....shes wearing me out.I think it'll be worth it....|

My door handles are off (but you know I never miss Žem ) looks good but so so troublesome, when the solenoids burn....
I now have 45lb solenoids and they donŽt cook.

|deadbodyman||I thought there was something out there like that.... I tossed around the idea of shaving everything ,door handles ,locks etc.....for about half a second....just the ugly antennia....|

I had the antenna hole filled the car looks much better.
I bought one of those interior stick it to the windscreen antennas......and it is lying under the dash pad.

My new windshield tool, I love this thing it took me about 10 min to saftly and cleanly remove my glass and THATS slow.....It has a stainless putty knife that works a little like a sawz all you just squirt some soapy water on the blade to keep it cool and lubed up, makes the job very EZ
I threw in the last pic to show my next victims waiting ....
I thought it was funny that the mustangs are still trying to where the camaro already is. the classic Mustang VS camaro situation...sorry I couldnt resist a little pokeing at that thing.

|deadbodyman||Ok,that reminds me of something.....in the above third pic shows the antennia hole...I wanted to shave that ugly antennia off and weld up the hole but first what to do with the antennia ? gotta have a radio....so I went down to my new glass guy and asked if they made a windshield for this car with the antennia made inside it even though they didnt come that way or some kind of aftermarket antennia that can be glued in there he said Yes I can get one like that so thats what I'm going to do shave that thing off today.... he'll be installing a new windshield ,with new trim,then limo tinting the rest of the glass to match the t tops ...he garuntees that he can get the tint on the back glass that has the defroster wires with no bubbles and says i wont bubble afterwards because of the good quality film he uses...|

|deadbodyman||Wahoo it worked.....first pic shows the fender fitted to the door and a good fender 2 hood gap but the back of the hood is up a bit. 2nd pic shows the adjuster for the rearhood hight...I poped off the rubber cap turned the adjuster down 2 turns and put the cap back on.3rd pic proper hood 2 fender fit.paying attention to the curvature of the rear hood matching and continuing into the fenders curve making a nice coninuous flow between the two. 4 & 5 just a couple of side shots....|
