It will be nice twisting some steel with fellow car guys after a ten month break.
Damn I wish I was closer to go to that. You are a master and seeing as you get this stuff done would be so damn cool.

Wow. Not good.
And here I am whining about a lousy torn shoulder muscle.
Hope the treatment works out for you.

sportcoupe bright sunny day here, 6 degs this morning, supposed to in high 20's. looking a bit warmer this weekend in the 30's and no snow. picked up a jvc radio for my coupe, plan on installing it this weekend. probably start up the wood stove in my basement to help heat the garage. Can't wait for spring and some warm weather.

Gas mileage has also been worse than usual, so started tearing it apart to check the carbs.
Got the bug catcher scoop off, and took the air cleaners off. Got ready to remove the linkage when I noticed the choke was nearly closed on the rear carb! Manual chokes, but I never use them, as it's always started right up. I checked the set screws on the choke cable, which ties to both carbs, and both screws were tight? Not sure how the choke got 3/4 closed, but I loosened it, and set the choke open. Gremlins?
Guess I'll have to keep an eye on it, until I'm sure it stays now. At least my fast idle circuit is off now, and maybe my gas mileage will pick up a bit too! It runs a lot better, that's for sure! Put some new air cleaner elements on while it was apart.

John long Worked on getting my inner wheel house repaired so I can fit and install the outer. It does not show in the picture but I have more work to do on the rear section.

I socialized with a buddy most of the afternoon so the truth is, there is only about 1 1/2 hours work today.......At least I got my 5 minutes in.

John

that's pretty bad. As Martin said, you could try stud pins but I don't think it will be easy as the metal has shrunk on you. Best thing you can do is block on it and use stud gun pins and hit down your highs while pulling up your lows. A stud lever is good for this but doubt it would pull with the force you need, but it would help some. I wouldn't bother with the plates for this. It will just make a mess out of it and you'd spend far too much time going across the quarter doing that. Not worth it. Just pull what you can with the pins and get out the mud. The seam is working against you on this, especially if you lap flanged the under panel.
