pres n snap tool?

I want/need to buy a pres n snap tool. Hoover seems to be the standard, but when I look at all of the different fasteners and die options, my head starts to spin. Cost is not really a concern, I want a quality tool that I should only have to purchase once. Any advice on tool brands and "standard" dies and fasteners is appreciated. I know the tool will see limited use...but when you need one, you need it. Thanks, Jeremy.

You really need only the Press N Snap tool and the button and socket dies that come in the kit. Perfectfit has the tool and 4 piece die set for $112, and that's about as cheap as you'll find. http://www.perfectfit.com/15336/154459/Fastener-Tools/Press--N--Snap-Tool.html There are dies for Durable Baby Dot fasteners, but unless you use a lot of snap fasteners they are not necessary. Then you will need caps, sockets, studs, and eyelets. Make sure you get both nickel over brass and stainless versions. You can add other things later.

Rcvd my press-n-snap tool. Also bought an Osborne 155 0-6 hole punch.

I've owned boats for 26 years now and have probably replaced 200 snaps with the wpos cheapo snap tools. I could kick meeself in the arse.

I should have bought the Press-n-Snap tool and the Osborne hole punch 26 years ago. These tools are a dream. I used to dread replacing snaps, because it was hard to do with the stamped steel tools and usually ended up doing each snap multiple times.

If you do snaps, you need these two tools!
