dwwl I agree, more than likely its the accums, and if that doesn't work look at the separator plate. They may of drilled the holes larger for harder quicker shifts. I had that problem and had to put a stock separator plate back in. I left my bigger valves in and it worked great.

dogwater No, don't think so. Accumulaters (spelling bee loser) are like shock absorbers in the trans. They might not have installed them or they were blocked off or they put a chunk of aluminum in the accumulater housing. Your filter has nothing to do with that, an the pressure doesn't either but not in this case.

rough shift 700r

I bought a rebuilt 700r with firm shift from TPI transmissions at a GOOD GUYS show about five years ago.yes TPI.(now out of business) i now have 700 miles on it. .Installed in my 56 chevy p/u.chevy 355.around 350 hp.
it has a lokar tv shift.i use a guage to to adjust the pressure.running around 95 lbs at idle.i also have a remote filter and remote cooler installed.my problem it when my foot is in it it is awesome. When i'm just cruising around it still shifts very hard up shifts and down. it bugged me so much i lost interest in driving it. i was wondering if the remote filter coud be causing a pressure problem.the remote filter is a one qt screw on filter..thank u
