I had a few minutes to kill, so as I was driving nowhere wasting a bit of time I saw a pawn shop and stopped at it.
Walk in and glance around, nice tidy place, figure yup this will have 40 blue ray players, some guitars and lots of jewelry.

I dont take 3 steps and see a very nice deep throat Milwaukee PortaBand on the shelf with a tag of $129.
I take the saw up to the counter and wait a few minutes, clerk comes over and I offer $100 for it, the guys says no.
Then he says how about if I take $90 for it since you had to wait so long before I waited on you!
It also came with the storage case with 2 new blades in it.

Some days you just get lucky

portable band saw

I bought a Porter-Cable portaband last year from a pawn shop in Pinellas Park Fl. It was in the original box with all the papers. They wanted $125.but I bought it for $100. I am building a T-bucket,and the saw has been one of the most used tools in my garage.

now build a stand

A few companies build stands, I made one for mine from 1 in sq tubing and some angle iron. The older ones with the sq aluminum stop is easier to attach a larger table. I haven't used my horizontle band saw since I got a chop say and the portaband.
