RWENUTS 73-87 chevy truck bolts in. THe perches are almost perfect. Just 1/4 inch difference in overall width.

DLC67 Thanks. I've done the spring perch thing before. Putting a 96 Cobra rearend under a 67 Mustang.

big gear head I don't think you will find any rear end that will bolt in. You will have to weld spring perches to any rear end that you find. You need something that is the correct width that you can put spring perches on. The Nova and 1st gen Camaro rear ends are usually about right for this swap.

Rearend swap for 55 GMC Truck?

I have a 55 GMC that I am installing a 455 ci Olds in, with an AOD.

When I go into the truck rearend, if I find serious issues; am I better off to replace it with a limited slip from a car (rather than rebuild it)?

Any ideas which GM rearends would bolt under the earlier truck?
