I have just broken in the cam for 20 min in the driveway and have not driven the vehicle. Do I need to retorque my head bolts now, or ever?
Hardware:
Installation:
Hardware:
- SBC350
- Factory Iron Vortec Heads
- GM Performance Head bolts, I scraped off the factory thread sealer and replaced with the ARP stuff (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-12495499/overview/make/chevrolet)
- Head gaskets: Clevite Nitroseal (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cle-5746/overview/)
Installation:
- I used ARP thread sealer, I think this is non-hardening
- I used ARP torque lube on the head bolt shoulders and under the hex head (where it contacts the cylinder head)
- I torqued in a 3 step sequence and then went over then again to ensure they were all right
