We started a trivia thread over at another forum and it has been a lot of fun.

Here are the ground rules. It starts with one question. The first reply with the right answer gets the floor for a new question. It continues like that unless, A) the person who has the floor doesn't ask a new question, or B) no one gets the correct answer. In that case, the person with the floor asks a new question. No more than one question on the floor at a time, and discussion/clarification is welcome until the floor is taken over by a new question.

See this thread for an example of how it goes: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/trivia/1454/page1/

First question: In the 1952 Indy 500, what type of fuel was burned in the record-setting pole-position #28 car? Hint: it won pole position by a full 4 mph over the second-place Ferrari

It's your floor. You got enough, it's the windshield washer reservoir on the left one I believe.

I really like these little cars, always have since riding my bike down to look at them in the show room floor.

I have an odd story on these little "doors" we are talking about here. I bought a basket case 64 Vette around 1986. The vents on the B pillar were missing. These vents are a pot metal piece with all four of them being different.

So I had found a couple of them, one from each side but still needed the other one, I think it was the bottom ones on each side. One of these Datsun Z cars came into the shop and it had the Vette vents I needed installed on these access doors! I asked about them and the guy said sure, you can have them, replace the doors with ones without the hole and keep the vents. I did just that and got my vents. :D

Probably it would be the 1969 Vette with the legendary aluminum 427 ZL-1 engine. Power ratings differed by whose writing the artical. Highest I remember seeing was 585hp. Only 2 were built. You could order one but you couldn't get one. As I remember both cars were very late releases in the model year.

I have ridden in one of these late model Z06 Vettes and it was VERY impressive I can only imagine what that 600+ hp monster is like! HOLY CRAP! SUPER handling AND gobs of power! HOLY CRAP.

That what it was and that's who it was. Ford really didn't need Shelby to sell Mustangs that was already happening. But Ford was big into factory racing and it's image and figured Shelby's involvement was a win win addition. He could only help bt sell more Mustangs and help fill the gap left by the people who really wanted a Cobra but either couldn't afford one or the car was just impractical in their lifestyle.
