4 hour work day for me at the shop. Used the time to do a valve body swap on a '01 Jetta 1.8t auto .... I successfully installed a transbrake on the car .... that however wasn't my intention.

Its in 2 gears at once in park, all other gears (R/N/D/2/1) are forward gears.... they all seam to be first gear.

I have it torn back down most of the way. Tuesday I'll actually get the VB back out and see whats up.... but part of me wants to take it out for a test drive the way it is just for the fun of it.

You will have to zoom on the first picture ,but my frame mounts seem to be much smaller than in the 66 ,second photo was first attempt to install ,these would not work last photo is final set that worked,,the first photo shows the frame mounts from a 66 impals but the frame is an 85 Monte Carlo ,that might be the difference ,don't know what solid mounts are from ,I had one set already other two sets picked up at swap meets.:confused:
Well, I am confused as hell but I am glad it worked.

I chased parts too but had a good time. Went on a mini road trip with the wife and picked up my 49-54 Chevy passenger car front end for my truck. Of course, not that I own it, it is now a 53-62 Corvette front end. :D

Check out the thread on the trip. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/soooo-i-went-get-front-end-my-truck-met-guy-233001.html#post1676619

It could be confusing ,I installed it and is confuses me,,i was referring to two different trucks ,the 63 Orange truck I first posted has stock frame stock frame mounts stock 69 chevelle mounts the big block dropped right in,,on my 53 truck it has a 85 momyecarlo SS frame my frame mounts are 66 impala motor mounts turned upside down then welded to frame ,then used GM solid motor mounts that are longer in the cup part which allows the engine to slide back or forward to make it set where you need it ,but leaves a 2 in gap front to rear so I had to use spacers that stop any slide once it was located then tighten thru bolts to keep spacers in place, that lets me adjust radiator space and firewall clearance, but this has nothing to do with his truck because it is completely different,, NOW you understand don't you .:D:D

Yeah, how come all the SBC 327's come from Corvettes, but not the 350's, or any of the BBC engines? :)
I have laughed about it for years saying there is a field somewhere out in the desert with rows of Corvettes, hoods off, noses up in the air with no motors. :D I wish I had the photo, back a while ago I saw some artist had drawn what I described! It was hilarious, wish I could find it to post.

Dropped the engine back in the Falcon today. Then set the intake on so I could bend up the fuel lines.

Made a huge mess when I decided to prime the engine and left the sending unit out of the block! 3 qts. of new Brad Penn oil on the floor before I saw it, and stopped priming! There's $20 down the drain, and a huge oil spill!

Idk what id do for just two models. Late 70s I love the styling and with some 9s on the front and some 12s on the rear would just top the stance off. And a really early 80s so I cound make a sledgehammer with my personal tastes. Clean it up with simpler sleeker styling but still able to tell what its a clone of.

Thanks! When I saw the mess I grabbed the closest thing I had to contain it; my old bed sheet the wife gave me to cover the engine! So it got it contained into a small area, but the sheet is wasted, and not worth cleaning. Maybe I should tear it up to have oily rags to wipe things with!;)
