I'm also eyeing up the P/S pump vs steering shafts. Haven't placed the engine yet. If P/S is more trouble than it's worth, it'll go on the shelf. It is just a hot rod after all.

Couldn't the line be routed over the top instead of straight down like that to allow for the clearance needed? They don't have to have that exact shape, they only need to go where they need to go, run it up over the top would work wouldn't it?

|sedanbob||Yeah, it's a little crowded there - that happens a lot when you drop a v8 in a '33/'34, especially with A/C and power steering. My sedan uses a rear-steer Omni rack behind the crossmember, which helped a little. A little plumbing should give you the room you need. Keep us posted as you build.|

Laying it back helps at the top (for now the rad's just in place to hold the hood up)... at the bottom I need a bit more space. I think if I can get the rad to move back about an inch at the bottom I'll make it. The pipes that are in the way are just plumbing. I haven't taken one off to check but if it's a flaired fitting, it's a one hour fix. I may be able to shim up about .5" also.
If I could just relocate the rad's left bracket it'd be a snap, but the bottom tank is the problem. I wasn't counting on this.

Unwrapping 34 Ford, cont... fenders.
'34 Ford coupe from Outlaw Performance.
The chassis and body came 8 days ago. The running boards, rear fenders, tank cover are just about ready for paint prep. The hood top is in it's proper place and cardboard stand-ins are in place for the side panels. I have them but they weight too much for tape and I don't want to clamp them, they're steel. The inner fenders have been trimmed for IFS clearance and set for hood panel fit.
The front fenders are just resting in place to make me feel good.
A stumbling block has arisen: The radiator needs to slide about 2." to the rear but can't. The pipes on the P/S unit are in the way. I may have to make new ones routed in a different direction.
