As 4 jaw states above, that method will give you the TOTAL CC's of the cylinder, but will also include any positive or negative piston dome CC chamber displacement.
If you have a domed piston or a dished piston, you will not get a correct "head chamber" CC reading.
Since the heads are off the engine, you're amost home free. Invert them, place them perfectly level on a bench and CC the chambers that way. Then you will be able to accurately choose the correct parts for your engine.

|4 Jaw Chuck||Sure, some auto transmission fluid and a 50cc syringe is all you need. Rotate the engine on the stand so the plug points straight up and fill the chamber with the syringe.|

How can I determine combustion chamber volume on assemble heads?
My heads were CC'd but I don't have the data. My builder has retired and I don't think he does either. My itemized receipt doesn't give the specs. I am getting ready to do a cam swap and .....possibly change the pistons as well. What I want to do is check the piston quinch and then with the CC data determine the true compression. The engine is out of the car. Can the CC volume be measured with the heads off the car, without being disassembled?
