Sprayed some cleaner along the drivers side of the intake manifold on the engine while it was running. It began to run rough. Leaking intake manifold gasket ?
Sounds like a vacuum leak...try spraying a flammable substance over the same area...sometimes your idle will increase...then you know you have a vacuum leak.
Best way to incur personal injury is to use an acetylene ax to cut exhaust system components out of the way, while laying on your stomach and wearing a NYLON jumpsuit. Ask me how I know.
The motor ran rough because as it was sitting, the fuel/air mixture was correct and you upset it by spraying and richening the mixture. In other words, whoever tuned the motor, tuned it to run rich from a carburetor standpoint, but just right when the air from the leak was included.
