DanTwoLakes The only thing worse than no advice is bad advice, and bad advice really bothers me.

sedanbob I was just teasing you. But I do know the frustration involved in trying to help people out.

DanTwoLakes Bob, what worries me is that there are some people who would actually try the peanut butter, and I wasn't even close to blowing a gasket.

Dan, I think I can see the veins sticking out from your temples from here! Relax, have a beer, we need you around here so don't blow a gasket.

kleen56 I didn't say my recommendation would be good or work better than Xylol... just something to consider...How do you know Aunt Bertha didn't use peanut butter on her 32 Coupe? At least she didn't have smell those toxic fumes from the Xylol. LOL... I wonder if Aunt Bertha still uses moth balls in her gas tank?

kleen56 Don't laugh, but peanut butter works to remove adhesive. It has to be natural peanut butter and not the skippy type brand. Something in the oil from the peanuts desolves adhesive. I also heard freezing the adhesive with ice cubes and then scraping it off works. Otherwise, I heard Mineral Spirits is the way to go. Check out this article:

DanTwoLakes It won't do anything to vinyl, Ultraleather, or leather. I've even had to use it to clean off fabric and it didn't hurt anything.

Hmm, saw that but wasn't sure what it would do to the vinyl. Thanks.

Cleaning off adhesive

Can't find it on the can. What's the best solvent to use to remove DAP Weldwood HHR Contact Cement from vinyl without damaging the finish?
