496CHEVY3100 There is I 55 at the shows that has door panels front and rear seats and console in his ,it looks great ,don't know about door panels but seats are not modified ,I could change what I have to to get door panels to work, I offered $ 500 and didny get them YET.

No not really I will have to check,i have found a 64 chevy SS complete interior WHITE with console that I am trying to buy,IF he decides to turn loose of it .

If I run a bench seat it will probably be the one from the hardtop. I also have the '74 Cordoba 60-40 power seat.The one from the convertible is pretty sad though. To use it would require replacing springs with a good firm foam I suspect. Do you know how similar the 53-54 and 55-57 are?

thought I was finished with the dump truck topped off all liquids to start engine ,Intake is leaking between head and intake ,

I will be going down in a little while to pull intake,,just got back from car show a GOOD one.

I went ahead and primed the front pans, It was the perfect day and I just did it out doors.

deadbodyman thats right ...Those big diesles had a slightly wider motor mount and they had to cut part of the frame off........ and turn it around so it was backwards, of coarse

They were under the half-tracks. The tanks are rear engined and have a modified version of the convertible frame...

I think they could be. I have to cut the "spider web" out of this frame and put it into the hard top frame. I am not looking forward to it either.

I didn't suggest the removal panel in my original post, just to think ahead to what trans you plan to install and make an adjustment now rather than latter, but your plan will allow for any changes needed in the future too.

If you are staying with the spider web central bracing of the original frame, I don't see where you need to worry about the body supporting much weight. The frame is so far over engineered that I think you could put a fiberglass body on and not be concerned about flex...
arent those frames army surplus from the old tanks....or was it the half tracks I know on my plymouth I can jack up one corner and get three wheels off the ground...true story ...and Johns is even stronger...

look where they use the nutserts ,on roof racks and mirrors ,PLaces that are up high...its a good day when you can remove a roof rack and not have three or four nutserts spin on you. but I think John came up with the perfect solution anyways... those covers always leak after a while too.

well for one thing you can adjust your clutch and get the linkages adjusted from the inside you dont have to get out from under the car and get inside to check it every time. no jack ,jack stands etc...
