DanTwoLakes I use size 92 Sunguard bonded polyester thread for almost everything. I sometimes top stitch with 138 Sunguard. I have some bonded nylon QTC Contrast TEX 270 (size 276) thread I am trying to see if I like it.

Re - Thread

Thanks Dan, I have ordered some #138. What type and size do you use for general auto upholstery?. Thanks for posting all the great upholstery tutorials.

DanTwoLakes It's a matter of personal preference. If you don't like the size 92 thread, use 138. You can also use 207 or 276 if you don't like the 138. You will need at least a size 24 needle to sew with 207 or 276, preferably a size 25 needle.

Thread - French seams?

Thread question-what is a good size thread for French seams? I have been using bonded nylon #69-92 but it doesn't show up very well. I prefer the # 92 for general sewing what do most of you use.
