|67-4-fun||Thanks for all the input. Right now the body is off the frame as I'm redoing the whole car. After doing more search I think most agree that the bars need to be more level. in order for me to level off the bars at ride height i want, going to have to raise the crossbrace to raise front bar location. i know what tire I want to run which is 30 inch . My plan is to slam the car down and tuck the tires slightly under wheel wells. I believe that would be about 3 or 4 inch drop from a factory setup. I know pretty much know where centerline of axle housing needs to be in relation to frame and body to get the look I want and have room for suspension movement and tire expansion. So I will do some more modification. I didn't want to back half the car as I think the 67-68 look better with mini tubs. Mine is tubed 2.5 inches.|

It's good you're not trying to use the other type on the street. If adjusted to where the "instant center" is very far out, the stresses on the housing can be enormous, a good pothole can tear a bracket off the housing.
On your setup if the bars run downward from the chassis to the axle, it increases anti-squat but also causes the rr axle to steer into corners with body roll which is really bad for high-speed stability. Having the bars angle up from the chassis to axle, stability is better but it's going to squat more at launch. As is being said, for your use the best compromise is probably straight level.
It would be worth doing enough research on, that you're dead-certain by the time you get the welder out.

|NEW INTERIORS||On your four bar set up the bars should be close to level with the ground... One bar won't be level and the other at a angle,, Your right about that,, It isn't a four link... When setting it up at ride height set them as close to level with the ground as you can.. Then set the cross bar where needed..|

if u have an idea of the angle of the trans then u can get very close to the correct pinion angle u need.. set the pinion angle then level the bars and weld the bracket to the axle.. when i built my bucket i also wanted 4 link.. so i built mine with all adjustable points... boy was that nice when aliening up wheels..

|67-4-fun||I can not adjust the bar angle by changing location holes on the brackets like a typical 4 link. The bars are fixed to where they are attach to crossbrace and to the brackets on housing. In order for me to level off the upper and lower bars for the current ride height i want is to raise the crossbrace between the frame rails which not a big deal as its just spot welded for mock up. Just trying to figure a all around starting point. This car is a 60/40 street strip car prostreet in mind.|

I believe the lower bar should be parallel to the ground when the suspension is statically loaded.The upper bar would then be used to tune the suspension, by raising or lowering the forward mounting pickup point.

4 bar suspension mock up
I bought a 4 bar rear suspension setup similar to 4 link with out different location for bars for my 67 Camaro. See pic of my 4 bar below. I'm currently mocking up setup to the riide height I want as if suspension loaded. My question here is the lower bars are at a 12 deg down ward angle from front to back. Is this to much? Or should the lower bars be more level? Your thoughts to the guys that know 4 bar setup
