|78C10 sleeper||I have the same holley street dominator intake and I have no problems and I've had both 6 point and allen head bolts. Very weird how your having problems maybe the casting is off.|

|eric32||Hello I just set my torque wrench to 25 ftlbs like I usually do and they work out just fine. I am sure it might be off just a hair but I don't know how much. I just leave it as is it seems pretty close in turning degrees like the other intake bolts.|

Do you adjust the torque numbers because of using that wrench or does it matter?

|eric32||I have a weiand stealth high rise intake same bolt pattern style as yours. I can't get anything regular on it except a box end wrench but I had to grind down the end of it around the radius with a bench grinder and it fits fine. Just go get a decent wrench and grind it down a bit around the whole radius and it will fit just fine. I also have a cheap distributor wrench that splits in half and allows you to hook up a ratchet to it and it fits just fine with no grinding and I use it to torque my inner bolts with it too. Those cheap distributor wrenches you can get at advance autoparts or autozone.|

|triscuit||Thanks for the replies. And yes i know that they didn't just appear on there... I was asking what type of socket they would have used to tighten those bolts. I looked at all sorts of tools around here locally and nothing will fit. Kinda sucks that I am stuck at this early of a stage for my first rebuild.. but, I completely expected to run into not having the correct tools. Just not, not being able to find the correct tool for something that should be this simple.|

|tresi||Not all wrenches are the same. The more economical wrenches are apt to use a lower strength alloy and make up for it buy making the wrench thicker. Take a look at a standard craftsman wrench vs a fully polished craftsman professioal wrench and yu can see the difference. Much like snap-on or other professional tools they use a higher strength steel so they can still have great strength but a thinner wrench. If I were you take a cheaper wrench and grind the boxed end down until it fits with room to turn. Those bolts shouldn't be all that tight so it might work. If it breaks you'll just have to beg, barrow, or buy a good wrench.|

try a line wrench/open end wrench/curved handle wrench...
I have that same intake sitting on my shop floor. when you install it(if you bother to use it again) put the center bolts in first.

SBC 350 and Holley street dominator
Hey, I am new here and have been watching the forums for a while now. I seriously CANNOT get the 4 middle bolt out on this intake. I have drive all sorts of sockets and box wrenches and nothing will fit with enough room to turn the bolt. I have ran out of ideas. I have to correct sizes but everything i have hits the walls of the intake and will not slide over the bolt... Any suggestions before I just take a dremel to the stupid bolts and get rid of this intake?
