Shortstep Here's another tip that I use- If your replacement cables don't have the plastic covering that covers the old spring looking outside you need to lube them good with wd-40 or some other kind of soaking oil and slip a piece of heat shrink over the entire length of the sheath and heat it up. Chances are you'll never have to mess with it again.

jwcnj45 Don't know if it will help you but this company makes custom built cables. www.push-pull.com I have not dealt with them but have one of their catalogs. They claim to be able to make any type of cable you need.

Heater Cables

My son's friend has a 1970 Buick Skylark. When he bought the car the heater did not work, I looked at the system 1 of the cables was cut and the other is frozen. I looked through Hemmings and called a few places only one said he would call back, but never did. Does anyone have any ideas?

It is a heat only car no AC.
