Wildmanbill I agree with Tazz I like to keep the wheel on Got Rust? rolling. We should set cruises between the hot spots like we did in the 70's.

farna Try www.cruisinthecoast.com. Biggest cruise in in the south east! Over 4,500 cars registered last year. Held every October for a week. There are 5-6 towns along the 30+ mile Gulf Coast of Mississippi that sponsor cruise areas. The idea is for you to cruise up and down the coast and park in an area for a while, then go to another. The maiin area is between Gulfport and Biloxi, but if you don't go to the "ends" you miss 30% or more of the cars. Everything from bone stockers to full drag cars (ever saw an extended nose, 426 Hemi powere Nash Metropolitan?) participate. Of course the drag cars don't drive up and down the streets. There is live entertainment, poker runs, etc. at each location. That's the ONLY thing I'll miss about living in Gulfport MS when I leave next year. Well, will miss my job (USAF Instructor) a little too.

drive around-cruise and show off the cars!!

My thoughts on the parking lot cruiseins is to have a cruise from one spot to another and not hang around all afternoon at one spot. Go to steak & Shake for frys and shake or steak burger$$$ Or go to Mickey D's for a grease burger and nasty not a shake. Run for pizza or tacho's just drive around town a little and show off the cars. Seems a shame to pull out of my garage and go to Super K and home??

TooMany2count I have made up a couple of games I've seen at shows.
Pushrod drop, where you have a series of different size holes & you try to drop a pushrod from a certain height.
Timing chain toss, took a cam & the gear bolted together , stood it up & had to toss the timing chains over it.
Ring toss, had some BIGGG rings off of a big bore motor & put a push rod on a board & then you tossed the rings onto the pushrod.
Piston throw, got different size pistons from a weed eater to a big bore diesel motor & set up tires at different distances & you throw the piston into the tires.

hope these help you.............joe

My husband says you guys could have a "fashion contest" where you have all the car show people dress in clothes from the 50s, then judge and award accordingly. What about valve cover races? I guess it all depends on how far you wanna go with it.

P.S. If your cruise-ins are anything like the ones around here, you could always blindfold people and have them play "Pin the Whale-Tail on the Nissan". <---my husband came up with that one.

Car Shows and Cruises

I first wanted to mention that I hate parking lot cruises. I also want to suggest some fun things to do to this guy that seems to DJ ALL of the cruises in the Inland Empire (Eastern Los Angeles). I only remember a couple of good games from the Shows and Cruises from where I used to live (Casper Wyoming). Poker Runs and Guess that Car part. In Wyoming it snows so much that when you do bring your car out it better be for something fun. So does anyone have other games that can be played at car shows and cruises?
