what are some ways to repair hail damage other than replacing body panels

one way, especialy for roof panels, is to DA the entire roof realy realy good. just keep sanding it down more and more even after youve striped all the paint off, the heat from sanding will actualy shrink the dents. this method also works on other panel that only have a slight crown to them........unless the dents are from baseball sized hail

ive repaired some pretty large dents before using a rubber mallet. at the shop i used to work at, a customer had a $50,000 audi A6 and someone had literaly SAT on the middle of his Aluminium hood ! It took me about an hour, but by the time i was done i had a 18" x 18" area STRAIGHT .... and it was a black car! lol, then the boss came over, told me the customer called and wanted a NEW hood and id have to redamage the old one because he wanted it back and the boss didnt wanna look like a fool by giving the customer back a straight hood

just pick a dent that you can access from the back, and you want to make circles starting at the outside edge of the dent, and literaly use blows that dont look like they are doing anything ...... circle a few times and watch the dent on the outside, youll notice it slowly getting smaller

If it is a newer car the dry ice method works like a charm if the sheet metal is HSLA (high strength low allow) steel, they should pop out quite easily.
