Hey all,

So I've got some 78 cougar spindles (disc brakes) that I'm rebuilding before putting them into my 64 galiaxie.

Right now I'm cleaning the rotors up so that i can send them out to get re-surfaced.

For some reason I can't seem to get the grease seal off the back of the rotor to get the inboard bearing out of there. Can't even slide a knife up under the edge of the thing? What am I missing?

Tap out bearing an seal together

I have had this problem and what I normaly do is come in from the opposite side with a piece of wood, put it against the bearing, and tap the bearing and the seal out together. This works most of the time but I did have a hub one time that I had to use a hydrolic press on to get the bearing and seal out. You want to use the wood so you don't damage anything tapping it out. Don't go in there with a screw driver. Hope this works for you.
