Hey Buckethead...wrong show. We're talkin American Chopper and not West Coast Choppers. BTW if they didn't fight the show would probably be off the air. That's what attracts most viewers. I've seen Dad raise hell with Jr. and then break out in a smile when he turns around. If everybody actually *****ed like that no one would be working together. As far as Coddington goes, when they ***** at each other it just flat out sounds stupid.

paperairplane Did you see Jr putting NO2 in his Prowler..... Actually, did you see Vinny putting NO2 in Jr's Prowler...

To me it's easy, I've seen a show with Jesse building a frame from bare tube stock, and I've seen him getting an award for welding. I have never seen Jr do *any* finish welding. He tacks some stuff together and then lets every body else finish, wire, paint etc etc etc....

My biggest problem with the Liberty bike is that seat. Since they had to bend the crap out of it to make the tire fit, the back edge is now at too steep an angle. (for you non-bikers that means your crotch is going to be crowded into the gas tank)

Then again, this bike will be trailered to shows and never ridden anyway.....

dinger Right on, Bill. They sure have acquired some nice toys since the show started. I think they should give JR. the boot, put Mikey in charge, build everything inhouse, they would probably buildone bike a year, it would make a great comedy. Something has to give before too long, the show is getting stale. As far as them putting the liberty face on the bike, I don't know if a decision was ever made, you can bet SR. will have something to say about it. Dan

Bad Rat I think it was funny how Jr. wanted to order everything from a different shop, and then when it came in it wouldnt fit. Hilarious!

I think Jr, might be just a little bit worried about doing this special fab work in house, like SR wants to do, it might put the spotlite on someone else on the show and he would have to share that spotlite, I'm not sure he would like that, I don't think he has the talent to fab tanks or fenders, he just adds on pieces of sheet metal that almost anyone could do, theres a trick to using a english wheel and shot bags, and takes a while to master, right now he gets most of the credit, the REAL people that have the real Fabricating talent are the VENDERS, and all they get is a little mention, but no mention of where they are located,

They have made hundreds of thousands of dollars off of this show, and have the funds to buy the equipment to do the special fab work, insted they buy huge New motor homes and trailers, with their name all over them, its all about EGO, just my 02 guys BILL

buckethead1 They said they wanted to clear coat it after plating. That will help with oxidation.

hot_rod_kid im not to sure about that copper plating paint. Wont it cause it to rust a little faster? Nice ride though.

I think it was funny how Jr. wanted to order everything from a different shop, and then when it came in it wouldnt fit. Hilarious!

buckethead1 My buddy hung out at his shop a few years ago. Not really a tour. More like two bike guys talking b.s. allday. He said that Jesse is a real down to earth guy and a workaholic. He puts in 16hr days 7 days a week. The funniest thing was he said while he was there some high end client came in and wanted to have Jesse to speed up the prcess on getting his bike done and he would pay double if he got it done by a certain deadline and Jesse told him to ******* off because nobody gets special treatment no matter who you are or how much money you have. I think thats why he got along with my buddy so well because they both have that same "I am who I am and if you don't like it...bite me." attitude.

liberty bike

like I said in the post about fabrication. all they do is assemble for the most part and have a nice paint job wich brings them a lot of money. everything on the liberty bike was purchase out of house, maybe i should start doing that any one wanna buy a bike from midwest choppers?? well i do love seeing stuff about jesse james cause he builds all his stuff. heck he even makes his own rims in house, the stuff he learned from working for coddington before he opened his own shop. has anyone ever see jesses shop in person

qwantus Did ya see the paint job he did on the POW/MIA bike? He does do excelent work.

I actually perfer American Hotrod... The fights are more intertaining and when do they actually work, I get more from watching them.

A32flathead I only put up with the show to see Justin the paint guy working, damm, he is so talented..... Just look at the work he did on the firebike & the snap on tools bike...hell, even the christmas bike was fun!

Good show, but spoiled by the b i t c hing, still, its not as bad as American B*yd Rod....

04-14-2004 02:16 PM
qwantus I think SR. is right about they need to do more in house fab work. Having everything sent out just makes them an assembly shop.
