Hey Guys, New to Hot Rodding and new to the Board. Great info and look forward to your suggestions.

OK, here is what I am struggling with. I have a 41 Ford Coupe. I'm getting ready to put in a 9" and am struggling with going to a disc or drum rearend. While I am doing this I am wanting to upgrade the front brakes from the 9.25" MII to an 11" setup.

So......Is it worth the brake upgrade? I hear about all of the 13" Performance Brake products, but I can't seem to get over the feeling that if the brakes lock up it doesn't matter if it is a 9.25, 11 or 14" rotor. It's still locked up. Does the larger rotor allow for greater heat and gas disipation and as a result less liklihood to lockup?

Thanks
Deon

You do have a point about the lockup of the brakes. It really all depends on how you drive the car. If you think it's a sports car, get the big brakes. If you drive like a normal person, and can't afford the big brakes, get what you can afford, and what will still work for the way you drive the car..

One thought though, you should never "cheap out" on brakes...............
