2wld4u honestly? I think you have a lil too much gear for nitrous....RPM kills quicker than anything...honestly I would use a taller tire or less gear if you plan to spray it at all..why? because a 100 hp shot isnt doesnt really start to get interesting untill the 150 shot jets are used..and remember nitrous works better on a near stock application than it does on a engine that is already you use even more..that would put you up to about a 200 shot to really get that seat of the pants UMF...but thats just my opinion and my experiance with the giggle gas...hth..2wld4u

traub83 ok with this engine in a s10 that weighs around 2800 pounds a posi rear end with slicks and a 4:30 gear, using a turbo 350 what kind of et's do you think this setup could produce? im thinkin mid 12's but honestly i dont know. what ya think?

406 ss monte good move on the intake, i started to suggest that myself. as fare as the horsepower, i would guess around 400 with the cam & compression your running.

traub83 yes i just made a purchase and am dumping my rpm intake for a victor jr. personally i dont plan to really run nitrous anymore just all motor as i dont really plan to race it just every once in a while go to the strip for fun. but my combo i have picked out should create around 450hp according to desktop dyno 2000 this sound right to you guys?

406 ss monte myself i would go with a forged piston & stay away from hypereutectic pistons. i know to many people that has busted, or burned holes in them. they put forged pistons back in & have had no problem's.

traub83 yea I may only do a 100 shot. im not looking to run 9's or anything however i would like to break in the 11's with this motor. I just want a good strong motor that will last for a few years without any type on major engine work. yah your right ill prob just do a 100 shot and leave it be. I will be running a 650cfm double pumper, ohh and background on the vehicle it will be in a 1993 s10 with a ford 9" rear end with 4.30 gears running 26" tall slicks. now this truck isnt too heavy im going to guess 2800 pounds so 400 horse by itself with this gear should drop me somewhere in the 12's id say low 12's and the nitrous should bump that to high 11's i would assume. I just mainly want to make sure this motor would handle a lil shot of nitrous for the strip...

firestone I would think that motor would make a good 400 hp. I think you may have made a mistake about the cam duration numbers being at at .050. If that is the advertised nubmer, then it should work fine. I have a friend that has run a 150 shot on a stock bottom end for ever and he has never had any problems. Of coarse, he has never leaned it out though. Personally, I wouldent run more than a 100 shot on hyper pistons, but you probably would be able to run a 150 shot as long as you dont lean it out.

my engine what ya think

I am currently building a 355 chevy, it has splayed maincaps, I am running a new scat steel crank, 5.7" scat I beam forged rods and keith black flat top pistons, my cam is a comp hyd. .512 lift with a 287 duration at .050, the heads are dart pro1 aluminum heads 64cc chambers and 215cc runners, Performer rpm intake, and 1.6 ratio roller rockers from crane. my transmission will be a th350 rebuilt with manual valve body and a 2500rmp stall with anti balooning plate for nitrous. now im just currious how much power natural do you see this motor producing? and with everything i added do you see it handeling a 150 shot of nitrous for the strip??
