Just tried your way but the dipstick runs into the #4 main cap.
What will be the downfall of not using a dipstick and cutting off the dipstick guide tube inside the block, beside not being able to check the oil.
That will be my other option or not used the Milodon Windage Screen.

What we recommend is pre-assemble the engine.. . . snug the pan on with the gasket. Take a 1/8" wooden dowel rod with a dab of grease on the end. Put the greased in down the tube and into the pan. ..when it hits the grease will mark the spot where you need clearance. As Czar said, give yourself about an 1" around it for vibrational clearance.

|engineczar||I would keep notching out the screen until there's enough clearance. An inch less screen around the dipstick area isn't going to affect the performance of the screen. Just make sure that the screen isn't weakened too much by the cutting if there's mounting holes close by.|

Oil Pan/ Windage Screen Problems
I have a Milodon 8qt oil pan and the Diamond windage screen. I have ran into a problem with the little dip stick tube inside the block getting binding between the screen and pan. I tried to bend the tube but when I install the dip stick it rides under the screen into the main cap area. My second thought was to notch the windage screen to clear the tube but it's still getting push in when the oil pan is installed. Basically what is happening when I install the oil pan it pushes the little tube into the windage screen and cause the dip stick to go under the screen. I need for it to remain on top of the screen? Any Solution...
