I'm installing a BB Chevy in my 70 Z28 and I've been tokd that the valve cover will interfere withteh powere brake booster and that I'll need to replace the stock booster with one with smaller diameter. Does anyone know of a smaller replacement one that won't require much modification?
Had the same problem on a 67 chevelle with tall valve covers. it touched the booster, so I added a 1/8" shim on one side of the 2 of 4 mounting bolts to angle it over slightly. It was enough to clear, but not enough to significantly impact the pedal geometry.
I have a bout a 3/16" clearance now.
summit do some replacement boosters not as big specificly for gm cars too ...whats better they come chrome plated ..although there quite costly i think.
As many times as Iv'e looked at the Summit catalog I've never noticed replacement bosters. I'll check it out, Thanks.
