|EBlack36||Randalls Rack uses the GM J car center pull rack and a corvette pump. The price with pump and bracket is around 1,500.00, about a grand less than the TCP (Chris Alston Chassisworks) unit. This is the unit I have decided on for the Cougar when I get the money saved up, It uses the original Mustang, or in your case Granada tie rod ends. This is a completely bolt in kit with the exception that you will need to modify you column, the parts you need to do that even come with it. For about the same money you can get the manual kit from flamming river which includes their steering column, however I understand from another forum that I belong to that they have some issues with bump steer. As a starter, you will need to find a rack that is the right length. Than means not only correct overall length, but the correct length center section so you have the correct length tie-rods. This is very impertant to aviod problems with bump steer. Then you need to construct strong mounting points for the rack. After mounting, you will need to determine how to connect the steering wheel to the rack thru shafts and joints.
If it was me, I think I would try to atleast find out what steering rack they use for their kit. May save you some money and alot of time.

66 mustang rack and pinion
My mustang steering sucks. I've replaced the ball joints, springs etc. along with Granada disk conversion. Whats involved to swap in a rack and pinion steering setup. I don't really want to spend the $ the boys at Mustangs plus want for their setup. I'm running a 5.0 out of a 91, with the p.s. pump acting as an idler right now. I'd like to hook it up to the rack if possible. Anyone out there done this?
