WANTING TO SWAP OUT MY QUADAJET TO A HOLLEY ON MY 87 EL CAMINO. PRESENT CARB IS COMPUTER CONTROLED? NEW HOLLEY ISN'T HOW DO I MAKE THIS SWAP?

sorry about the caps key guys. just kinda learnin this stuff. as to the carb swap quad is pretty well toast. already have an aluminum intake and a spread bore adapter. holley has just been rebuilt. my problem is not knowing how this swap would effect computer?

If you want to switch from a computer controlled carb to a non you will also need to swap out the distributor also, the factory one has parts controlled by the same computer that controls your carb and your car won't run right when you change just one of the two. Even if you don't gain much power your engine bay will look better with less of the computer crap in the way.

By the way that computer is located behind the passenger side kick panel.

computer qjets suck. you have no idea the time i spent jacking with my q jet. as soon as i replaced it with an old qjet and old distributor i saw not only more hp but better gas mileage to. go with the old stuff
as for the computer it will turn your check engine light on all the time qjet or holly. disregard the light
