Tony@AirRideTech weimer hit the nail on the head....... it is the same as the S-10 and if you even look in the Bell Tech book it is part number BEL2100 and that is for the 82+ S-10 and 78-88 G body. Now on your springs, if you didnt put some miles on them before you cut them then there is no telling what they would have done. new coil springs will settle over about 30 days.......

Weimer Go the cheap route and buy sropped spindles for an S10...same spindles. Maliobu dropped spindles usually run about $250.00 - $300.00 and S10 are the EXACT same spindles...they run between $75 - $150.

G-body spindles

Hi ,6 speed
My suggestion to you is call , or visit your local salvage yard and have them check their Hollander Interchange Manual .These books have been around for years ,and will tell you what swaps with what . I think that '78-'82 Malibus are basically all the same ,and also ,Monte Carlos ,Gr.Prixs ,Cutlasses ,etc .are pretty much the same cars ,suspension wise in those same years .I would also think that springs for a wagon would definitely be a lot stiffer than say springs for a Monte Carlo ,so maybe swap in some lighter duty springs . Cut coils IMO are a definite no-no ,lowering suspensions can be tricky ,and cut coils is NOT the way to do it .There are enthusiast sites specifically for Malibus ,and I would take a look at that also ,to see what is out there for these cars . Just my $.02 worth . Rick

78 g body dropped spindles

Iordered eibach lowering springs for my 78 malibu wagon. When i installed the springs the back went down 2 inches and the front went down maybe half an inch.I called eibach and they told me that they didnt make springs for this particular application. If they didnt sell em for a 78 wagon how did i buy em for a 78 wagon from summit?I had to cut a coil and a half off the front to even it out.Now im riding on the snubbers and its horrible.
Im thinking i should go with dropped spindles now.So ...i check around and the companies that sell the spindles dont sell them for a 78, they are all 79 and up.Lauren engineering said that all i have to do to use 79 and up spindles is to replace the rotors with 79 and up g body rotors.Im kinda skeptical cuz of the whole eibach ordeal.
If the spindle rotor swap will work thats what ill do.I just wanna make sure that thats all i have to do.I dont wanna end up spendin a million dollars to correct summits problem.
