I have some tools that my Dad had when he was a mechanic. He retired circa 1980. He later passed on. Anyway, several of the tools are of the "mystery" type.
One tool appears to be some type of pliers. It is stamped KD #435. I've checked all over with Google for KD, but all I find are distributors and cannot find anything even close.
Napa and any other real parts store would carry the K-D line. You'll find that most of what K-D makes is special application or specific use tools. You might try thumbing through a Napa catalog (online?) for info.
K-D Tools is part of -Danaher Tool Group-. Their website sucks, but it appears that tool no. has been discontinued. You might want to E-Mail them and inquire as to it's application. Someone is probabaly needing one now...
I'm afraid that would leave a mark with those pointed tongs!
FYI, I've spent about 3-4 hours today scanning the Snap-On site for some of the other tools. Most have apparently been discontinued. I did find an updated model of one of them, a clutch alignment tool...that currently sells for $455!!
I may start a "Can You Name That Tool" thread. Some of these things are really bizarre.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
