Intake manifold bolts order?

I am in the prosess of replacing my intake manifold. I have a 1969 ford mustang with a 302 2barrel. I am taking out the old one and putting an edlebrock one that is used for a four barrel. I looked through my manuel and there were no specifications on taking it out. So wanting to get it done in one day i took out all the bolts in no spesific order. Shortly after i was told that taking them out in no order would screw up the heads:pain:. So i had a neighbor mechanic look at it and he said that there was no damage done:confused: What a relief! I think. So is there an order to put them back on, i looked through my manuel, but it said nothing. The mechanic said that I should just tighten them down one turn at a time each. So i was just wondering is there an order or do what the mechanic said?
Thank you for responding:)

I`m not a ford guy, but far as I know they don`t go in any certain order, we replaced the heads on a 351W some years ago, they didn`t go in any particular order either that I recall. if in any doubt, I would just remove the bolts and compare there lenths, if there all the same lenths then there would be no reason for them to go in order.

torque

Doc Here :pimp:

What that means is the torque is a two step process. First Do the pattern to 17 Lbs, Then repeat, Taking the torque up to 23 Lbs.

You should check again after your engine breaks in too, as well as heads if you Installed them new.

BTW...If you can't find torque patterns for something, a basic rule of thumb. Start from the center out and diagonally , and you usually won't go wrong.

Works on lug nuts too...

Hope it helps!
