1meancuda Hmmmm....... A broken spring on a brand new part? I'll have to check that out tonight maybe.

By the way, I actually installed the part with the steering wheel still in place!

flyfisher Sounds like the spring broke. Not a big deal. You have to remove the steering wheel. (if you have air bags, stop and check the air bag disable procedure). Use a steering wheel puller and when you get down to the signal light layer, you'll see the broken spring. just change it and put it all back together again. You can get a set of springs from a GM dealership.

Turn signals won't shut off after turning!

I installed a new combination/dimmer switch into my '95 Buick. Everything works properly except for my turn signals. They both come on, but when turning left, the signal does not automatically shut off after completing the turn like it should. You can hear it click like it's trying to, but it stays on. The right turn signal does shut off like it's supposed to. Anyone know what is going on here? Would having the steering wheel cranked to one side while installing the switch mess it up like this? I don't really care too much if I have to turn it off myself, but I just want to make sure that I'm not hurting it by doing this.
