Buy the TH 350 from 67 Bird. That's a great deal. I've got a TH400 in my 69 Firebird but I have a 455 turning it. Have not had any problems with the TH400.---

I doubt whether you have a PowerGlide.
More than likely it's an ST300.
Similar to a PG but different.
Not the best choice for a vehicle that would be asked to perform.
A TH350 would be my choice.
TH400 would be next in line.
But a properly set up PowerGlide is deadly.

|67bird||when you decide what your gonna do, and you if you go the th350 route, then i have a th350 for a pontiac for sale! it worked fine when last in the car. that was about a year or so ago and i'm asking $50 plus shippin. let me know|

68 firebird tranny help..........
i have a 68 firebird with the original 350 big block and a 2 speed powerglide which is also numbers matching....i find the bottom end in this car terrible....im seriously considering doing a tranny swap for either a turbo 350 tranny or a 400 tranny.....maybe with an aftermarket stall of some sort...the car has the stock 350 big block with 4 barrel and also posi rear end......so my questions are will i need to do much modification to swap to one of those trannys,which one will work better with a shift kit and stall the 350 or 400 tranny....any help would be appreciated....im not looking for anythining insane here just some better punch of the line....and is it normal that a powerglide sucks so bad i have heard that they are the choice tranny of drag racers...that just doesnt make sense to me....anyway thanks for the replys guys....
