1BAD80 What are your times at a dragstrip right now ?

chris oswalt you know i thought so to but i also have 600 lift springs. and yes i do have screw in studs. along time ago i made the mistake and didnt buy them and f**ked everything up so i always put them know. should i get a good stud girdle for extra protection. i already replaced the studs before i put the heads on and the old ones were bent (after i bought the heads). It runs so good that i realy hate to start it for fear that it will break. I had one pushrod break already, it broke and fell down into the cam jurnel and broke the cam in to. I had to pull it out and look at all the bearings and see if they were ok, and yes i was trying it out. and now i am running it on race gas, braking it in. I had pump gas in it last and i think it was pinging alot (you see i didnt have mufflers or pipes or anything to tell whether it was or not. but now i have some pipes on it and getting mufflers so i can here it.

Mat Boardway Do those camel humps head you have screw in studs. Seems odd that you have to adjust them so much.

chris oswalt well all i have to do is get 1 or 2 time slips to see how fast it go's.
then improve on it. do i need better heads and more compression for the cam. they recomend at least 11 to 1 but i dont have that, they said it would probley work ok. as long as its got good power and it has vary good power, and rev's vary quick Iwas thinking about some bad a** pistons and angle milled
dart 2. how do i keep the rockers from needing ajusted every few days ( trying it out and tuning it up) as it is i will be ajusting valves between rounds.

thanks everyone
chris

sbchevfreak as said, steet racing...bad bad boy! keep it on the track, and with that setup, (spool, ect.) the street isn't a reallygreat place to be. also, ditto on the t-5. it will grenade the first hard run you slam through it with any reasonable HP.

Super Streeter I am betting that the Mini Spool is there because he it trying to push 450hp thru his stock 7.5" camaro rear end.I cant blame him since the next step up will cost him more then his entire engine did,and about twice what the value of the bare car body is.{I am talking about a $2500 9" rear}

Lonestar 11's are not as easy as some people think.

I think a tunnel ram with 2 450's would work well for your application (I know others disagree)...just my thoughts as the steep gear ratio and manual trans would compiment the fuel distribution.

Dump as much weight off the car as possible. Since it's a "limited" street use vehicle, creature comforts ar not as important.

chris oswalt i forgot i have a water pump drive kit and full race rockers that were way to much $. what i want is some world heads or darts that are angle milled severly and i am thinking on a super victor and a holley 1050. but i have a 750 with all the trimings but the thing was used and it is broke. i need the center section and flaps. mabe i will make it a 850. my cam is a solid lift cam and starts at 4000 and go's till 7500rpm i have cast pistons now but all i want is 1 time slip before winter so i can put twice the s**t in it. I had another with 456s and a comp cam 525 solid and it was a 12 flat car power pacs and a 4000 stall man was it wicked to drive. I know it dont sound like much but i have the paper to show you. so i thought it would be smart to have duble everything and smoke that car. should i put a solid roller in it, one of my friends put a michanical lifter 600lift cam in his and with darts ran high 11s. but that was with a th350 and a 3500 stall. what do you think i need for 11s then nos to get to the 10s. should i put 12.5 pistons and the heads.

Odium Future broken part #1- you are still running the stock tranny. If you plan on pushing low 11s, you will destroy that real quick, especially with N2O.

Mat Boardway I had a very close setup a couple years ago. Instead of the fuelie heads I had dart Iron eagle w/ 200cc runners. Traction was a problem and it did 12.92. My biggest problem was the stock 5spd tranny. I couldn't keep a tranny alive for more than a month. You might want to add a Richmond tranny into the list of things to get.

k-star
set-up

You are close on your set-up. The carb is wrong. I would agree on it needing a 750 dp. and no way would i run a 2x4 set up.

The spool is fine. But i hope you know never, and i mean never drive it in the rain. If your out with the car and the roads are wet park it until they dry.. I have a few customer running spools on the street with no problems.....And it goes with out saying they are limited drive cars......

I don't think it will run low 11's on motor with the combo you have now. There is a lot more to getting a car in that et range then just motor. If you have a prover car that was raced and the suspension is all worked out then you can start looking at good et's.

As a side bar here i sold a engine that went 11.95's all day in my car. The guy put it in a car that was 250/300 lbs lighter then my car. The first time at the track it went 15.50.... He had something wrong with the ignition or carb set up... Just telling you so you don't think you just hop into a unproven car and get good et's..It will take some work.

Need some more info on your parts before i can give you a good answer on the nitrous question..

killerformula is 100 % on that there is no street racing here. Take it to the track. That is what they are there for. It not worth the chance of hurting or killing an innocent person for bragging rights!!!!

Siggy_Freud You could get away with a 75-100 shot as long as you do it smart. Get a timing retard kit, run premium gasoline, and use a throttle activation switch so it only activates at WOT.

slayer lose the spool, get a 750 holley double pumper, some full roller rockers and poly locks. u should have a kick *** street setup compression should be adequite.

i ran a 292comp 500lift with CH heads 202 with a 750 holley and perf rpm 373s 4speed it was a blast

whatever u do..... dont waste yer money on dual 4barrells
your car is on the heavy side and you have most of a good setup a few little changes and u will be rockin!!!

oh and the nos........
