Just bought a 47 Ford Tudor sedan

I just bought a 47 Ford Tudor about a month ago - it has a Camaro subframe with a 350 and a TH350 trans, 10 bolt rear. Right after I bought the car, I replaced the 600 Holley with a 625 Demon carb. I have set and re-set the float levels, idle mixture, and the timing, but the car "bogs down" on acceleration - any ideas?? Alo, I am considering replacing the stock seats - does anyone know if seats from a late model (2000-2004) Cadillac Deville will fit? The car has the tilt column out of the Camaro as well, and I would like to replace it a polished one - most people seem to be recommending Ididt - any thoughts/suggestions?

welcome to the board, as for the carb i'm not to good with them maybe different jets, for the seats you will have to see how they are mounted in the caddy you will need to measure from where they bolt to the floor and see where that puts you in the 47, you might need to build a platform to get them to sit right. they will probably fit width wise but it might look kind of stuffed. take a lot of measurements before you decide. if you want a polished column then ididit is the way to go but personally i think the camaro column is fine.good luck i hope i helped.

Bog down occurs under heavy acceleration. I can hear the secondaries open. Idle mixture seems right, float levels are set according to specs. Is it possible my distributor isn't advancing? The vacuum hose is fresh too. To make matters worse, it just started burning oil out of the right side. This happened suddenly as I was driving the car to Carlisle 2 wks ago. It appears to be most prominent when I let off the throttle. Someone told me it's probably valve guides. I really don't know how old the motor is, or how many miles are on it.

If it bogs under heavy acceleration you may need to go to a different size squirter nozzle, or vacuum secondary spring. I'd try a larger squirter nozzle first, then possible a little heavier secondary spring.
