poncho62 I was a "Gasser" after the Chinese buffet tonight................

Seriously, the "Gasser" class was a predecessor of the Funny Car class in the early 60s. They generally used early coupe bodies with huge motors.

Willys36 will be explaining it to you in more detail as soon as he sees this.

What's a Gasser?

Noob here. I am an MGB enthusiast but a good friend of mine is building up a Willys with an outlaw body. I don't know a lot about Willys but I am trying to learn as much as I can. I just ordered the book GASSER WARS on Amazon. My question is: where did the term 'gasser' orignate and what does it mean exactly. I sort of have an idea but info you want to throw my way would be appreciated.
