|nickel333||Get some aftermarket heads, sportsman 2,iron eagle, pro action,the deck surface is thicker for Blowers and nitrous and stuff,Youll have more power out of the box than you could get with your ported stockers, and if your buying a blower whats another 500 bucks for some good bare heads ya know, you already have to buy valves and springs, and im guessing you have rocker studs and guide plates. If your going to the extent of the blower then why leave yourself short handed on the heads. Hell you could probably sell your stockers for a 200 bucks to some local kid that needs a set of heads. good luck and have fun|

|SLOW BILL||T Man I had really good luck using stock castings on a 355. you need to take a few precautions though. Make sure the guides are in perfect shape, especially the intake guides. Also I had very good luck using a full face 45 degree angle lapped in on the exhaust valves to get heat away from the valve. valve seat pressure is also critical. we ran this 355 @ 40%over on alcohol in a small tractor & had very good luck. hope this helps.|

Ok, it seems pretty obvious that I should look for another block for my motor project. Now I'm
wondering about the cylinder heads. I've heard that stock heads tend to crack between the valve seats. I have a set of heads that came off a 69
S.S. Camero that have been ported and polished,
machined for scerw in studs and guide plates.
But I still need to get the valves and springs.
A friend of mine says that I'd probably be a lot better off going with a set of World Products heads, tham using the reworked stockers. The heads are going on a blown motor, and I don't want to have be worrying about heads cracking.
Has anyone had any luck with reworked stockers on a blown small block?
