Was this in Fresno Ca? I remember a used car lot there, along with a wrecking yard that was frozen in time about 1964.
I believe you're thinking of a place in Selma, Brian. I'll look for the Cars and Parts magazine where I wrote into them about the demise of the place, sent a few pics that never got published, just the letter I wrote. It was on old hiway 99, the guy got into a beef with the state for losing his traffic flow when they re-routed the hiway, ended up having an auction, lots of cool iron. Glen's used cars, IIRC. There's also a place north of Fresno, called Romo's, iIrc. Lots of old iron there also, last time I went through there (12years?) there was a Chrysler Airflow that had "sold" on it, turned into a show car eventually. Some hassles with the state has kept them out of the picture or so I was told. Dan

There was yard near me with hundreds of 50's and 60's cars and most were driven in from the owner's used car lot after they sat so long without selling. Due to some legal issues they closed the yard about 20 years ago and couldn't sell so much as a lug nut. Even after they were free to sell again they remained closed. About 5 years ago they crushed EVERY single car!!! '55-'56 Crown Victorias, a rust free '64 GTO sedan, '55-'57 Chevy's, T-Bird's, Chevy II's, retractable hardtop Fairlanes, Hudson Hornets, Studebakers, you name it. There were also several 30's and 40's cars in nice shape as well. Gone forever because the owner didn't want to "mess with that old crap anymore". I'm trying to find pictures of it in it's heyday but ask just about anybody in Western Illinois about Henderson's Junkyard on IL Rt. 94 just North of Aledo, IL. They'll tell you the same thing.

ChevelleSS_LS6 i say look into it regardless... I've seen a late 70s Pontiac coupe that had a good body and mint interior, but the suspension looked messed up (bad curb experience?)

anyway, the crusher got it. Rest in peace old indian, 2006. Also a vintage mustang with a 73 plate met its fate the same day. Now, they're a part of that chinese egg car they have over there.

In terms of being hokey, I don't recall seeing that member around much. At least it was good entertainment.
