tom_scott Thanks everyone for your replys....I bet you guys are right on with them being warped. Think I'll solve this problem with headers. Once again, thanks.
03-02-2003 04:56 PM it is very common for these manifolds to be warped, enuff that some auto parts stores sell a "spreader kit" that spreads the ends away from the middle so you can start the bolts, these look like the old coil spring boosters that were marketed for years. also if the manifolds are that far out they usually aren't flat either, you will have to have them milled flat or you will have constant problems with leaks, i get a lot of these from motor homes and heavy trucks.

V8 S-10 I agree that they've got hot and warped You might be able to drill the holes in the manifold out a little bit and get them to go on or make a trip the the junk yard to get some replacements.

1BAD80 I cant tell you if they fit or not, but if you have the old gaskets from both motors, overlay both of them to each other and you will see any differance. LOL

Exhaust manifolds

I just completed my swap in my 82 silverado. I took out the 305 and dropped in an 87-89 350. The intake manifold did not bolt up to the FI heads since this was a TBI 350, so I had them drilled out to make them work with the old intake. My problem is the exhaust manifolds. I left them in the truck and stabbed the motor between them. However, my problem is I cant get them to bolt up. Are the bolt holes a little bit off. I have one bolt started but I cant get anymore. When I look to see if it lines up, it looks close but just a little off.

Anyone know if the 82 manifolds will bolt to a newer 350. Any help is sure appreciated....Thanks.

This is the first time I have done an engine sure getting an education.
