machine shop tom What they are saying is that those engines had flat-top pistons from the factory and that the KB pistons you are looking at will give comparable compression to the original ones. You can use those pistons KB for your application.

johnsongrass1 Might be the depth of the valve relief. As long as you check all your clearances I would'nt even pay attention to applications.

Question on Piston Ad - Re: Application

I was checking out Keith Black pistons… and I found the following:

Listed for the following application… Chevy 350ci Stock-Type Pistons for 1969-78 Trucks, 1969-70 Cars, 1990-91 Corvette

350ci Stock-Type Pistons, Use w/5.7'' Rods, .030'' Overbore

· Piston Dia.: 4.030''
· Piston Top: Flat Top, 2-Valve Reliefs
· Comp Ratio: 10.9:1 w/58cc Heads, 8.9:1 w/76cc Heads
· Rings: 1/16'', 1/16'', 3/16''
· Priced as Each, Sold as Set

My question is… why would they be only for those applications? I am looking for some 30 over flat tops for my 76cc heads, and my block is a 4 bolt manufactured from 80-85.

From this description, I cannot see why the application is limited.

Many Thanks,
