jpd37 Thanks pasadenahotrod for the tip. I have the rings. I'll head to the boneyard this weekend and see if I can get my hands on a set of sockets.
I assume they can be pop riveted into place once they are trimmed and prefitted. I was aware of the light refraction aspect, but I saw another 37 that was set up that way and the owner told me he was very satisfied with the headlight performance.

pasadenahotrod Assuming you have the original retainer rings to hold the lens to the buckets, you can take the light assemblies from most any 4-light system cars with round lights (60s/70/s) and install them in your buckets. Sometimes you may find a problem with the light being "double-refracted" (if that's a word). You see, the sealed beams lens sends the refracted light out throught the original lens which refracts it again sometimes dimming or difusing the light so it looses its focus and you loose your night vision. You night find a way (like tons of duct tape ) to mount the original lens temporarily i front of the existing sealed beams and see how it works at night.

Retro headlights into 1937 Plymouth buckets

I have a 1937 Plymouth that has had the original headlight buckets removed and a salvage ring installed to carry a standard seal beam. I also have an original set of glass lenses that I would like to use again. I would like the seal beam to be adjustable behind the glass lens. I am willing to use the smaller seal beam if it will improve the surrounding space for the adjuster screws. Does any one know how I should go about doing this? I am also in need of a set of rubber gaskets for the glass lenses. Any suggestions on where to shop for such an item?
