welding (with a mig) worked great for me, but my 55 is like a tank. just pulled the trigger for a half second and let off.several times (then grind down) i really dont know about this on the thinner sheet metal you have... bondo would work as long as it goes all the way through the hole so it wont fall out. forget spot putty, it wont work. dont get the area too hot or it will warp if it doesnt burn a hole oh yeah, if you use bondo always get the "all-metal" kind, and never leave bare metal exposed. primer immediately even if you are sanding it off at a later date. that way it wont rust.

Do not recommend leading. Weld them. You won't warp the sheet metal if you are carful and don't apply to much heat. Theres absolutly nothing wrong with using body filler as long as its used properly. Using it to fill hole isn't using it properly, it is only for final finishing and smoothing. Weld the trim holes shut by using a copper backing.

|crazy larry||weld it man, just be careful of the heat causing warpage, and the dreaded burn through. ive read and been told that welds wont stick to copper so try backing the hole with copper or brass just to get your fill going and grind smooth. I welded the trim holes on my 72 ford without any backing and they look good. if i can do it anyone can.|

body holes on a 69 gmc truck
my truck is full of body trim holes I want them gone,would welding still worp the body even though the panels are so thick if so what are your opinions on ledding? Id like to stay as far away from bondo as posible. thanks
