My 69 bb corvette is leaning to the left and toward the rear. At first I thought the rear spring was shot, so I put a new heavy duty spring on- same thing still leans. To compensate, I have put rubber washers and tightened up the left side of the spring considerably: in fact, I've got the spring to the point where it's flat. I put a heavy duty rear end cover on, because I've always been afraid of the spring or the rearend cover it's mounted on might break. The body mounts look good. There is one body mount behind a little cover just in front of the rear wheel that I haven't looked at yet....My question is, do you think that it's safe to drive? I've been driving the car like this for 10+ years, but I'm afraid to really drive the car hard because of this. Is there a way to see if the frame is bent without taking the body off of the car?

yes indeed

Thank you Bracketeer for suggesting the front springs---you were right!! New springs on the front and she's as level as the day she was born. It's amazing that the lean showed up in the rear. You are the man-thanks again!

Bracketeer, you're the man

You called it right---the weak front coil springs made the rear lean to the left----I replaced the front springs with 550 lb ones and it's nice and level--thanks a lot Bracketeer--now I can slide around some corners without fear
