Do you mean pulling the rear end apart or taking the whole thing out of the car? Either way no, the axles have to be pulled out far enough the get the center section out. so the rear wheels can't be on the ground.
i have a 69 chevelle. i plan on puttin boxed lower control arms for a sway bar and maybe uppers. its also a open rear 10 bolt,i plan on makin it a posi unit. im kind of new to restoring cars. im doin it in my backyard, can you do this with jackstands?
thank you
With the stands under the frame, you still need a jack of some kind to support the rear end when you take the trailing arms off. A good floor jack is a good investment.
Make sure you have good solid stands and jack. You will be working hard under there to get it apart and could possible knock it off or collapse cheap stands.
i have the 6-ton jack stands from summit and a good 3-ton floor jack.
