Ok. This kid who go's to my school has a nissan pickup 4x4 with a straight four and a five speed. I really don't care, but why does his truck move foward when it's started?
dont know why...but Im not sure it makes the truck dumb. I had a 89 Nissan SEV6 pickup...I have to say it was the overall best vehicle Ive ever owned.never owned anything as reliable.
Yeah, my dad has a 86 pre hard body nissan pickup. He's put it through normal truck duties regularly, but also has did his best to keep it in shape, besides a couple times getting a/c work done on it, it also has been extremely reliable. It has over 200k on the odometer and is still running like it did back when he bought it brand new.
I'd say the clutch needs adjusting if its doing it while in gear with clutch pressed in...
If that doesnt help uhhh id say your needa take the tranny out, n get the pressureplate off and see why the clutch disc is engaging.
I called it dumb because I don't like import cars. Unless they are of German or Italian make. I'm not into sports cars, but those are the only imports I like. Yeah I assume that he is pressing the clutch in all the way, unless HE is dumb. It has a straight four in it. So adding a 2 1/2" dual exhaust on it with a cherry bomb turbo made it sound like, well, an import car!
on another note, you cannot call a car "dumb" because you don't like it. i don't like bronco's, is it dumb? actually, i don't like ford in general, all ford is dumb! do you know how fast my *** would be kicked if i had that attitude? everybody has there own style, who are we to tell them its dumb?
i'm off my soapbox now :welcome:
I imagine that the "dumb" Nissan has a hydraulic clutch. Check the fluid in the reservoir............................probably not disengaging the clutch all the way.
BTW...Broncos are ugly..........................kidding.
I just use the word "dumb" a lot. I think it did have a hydraulic clutch in it. I say Nissans are dumb, just like mj lover said that fords were dumb. It's all opinion.
Same difference... Valve covers are parallel with the fenders, kinda weird lookin'. They're real smooth, but a PITA to work on IMO. I had a G/F that had an Impreza (all the Suby 4's are flats), a few months after she bought it we realized the spark plug was crossthreaded in the aluminum head. Kinda a pain to get a helicoil in.
There's a y-pipe that connected the 2 manifolds... On the newer models they even each have their own cat, IIRC. They're pretty wide, but they're pretty flat too, so they don't take up much space vertically. Alot of the stuff that is on the sides and goes around normal motors can go over the flat 4, and thing like the exhaust manifolds just go down off the heads straight outta the engine compartment. The WRX's even have their intercooler mounted on top of the motor, theres that much extra space. My buddy that has an exhaust shop also told me thats that why their tappets always click like their collapsed, because they're 90 degrees off kilter than a normal motor... Dunno if thats true or not but kinda makes sense I suppose.
OK it's an INLINE four. When he opened the hood I asked, "where's your motor?" It was so small in the engine bay. Yeah, I like the sound of Clutch impaired better. Lets bear in mind that this kid asked for the day off from school to go turkey hunting. He did mention that he changed the clutch...................Probably dicked around too much despite the fact that most hydraulic clutches are self adjusting.
