They wouldn't be so tough it wasn't for those stickers.

|RCastle||Now we all know it would. But,in defense of a "true Ricer",the Civic has a TURBO,+ it probably has a 250HP Type R badge on the rear.So in rice math 101 we learned that the more go fast goodies you can cram on your car,+ when you add the 20HP and the 35 HP gains togather, you end up with something in the ballpark of 3000 horses, plus that short throw stick swinging the gears on a factory transaxle. Now we are talking some high numbers and some real low E.T's|

Hey Ron I bet this ricer could beat the one you posted!

|willowbilly3||Well, I still remember when I was young (70s) and a fair number of "kids" had just as goofy of cars then. How about a 4 door 63 Chevy with the ***-end jacked up 2 feet and a fake spray on vinyle top, fake sidepipes not to mention the stickers. And if you can find pictures from the 50s or 60s you will find more goofy stuff then too. Look in a 50s or 60s J.C. Whitney, 2 pages of nothing but bolt on fake tailfins and we think these kids are the first ones to bolt stupid looking useless stuff to their cars? It's been going on since WW2 got over and kids could afford cars. And yes, 30 years from now they will all be sitting around lamenting about that old Civic they had way back when.|

Very true Ghetto,
Thing that I think about though is that ok you have our cars all steel and just last forever even in some back yard. The cars you said may very well be the ones people will save andhave later on but what they truely are marking is tech. advancement of an age not the age itself. Muscle cars marked an era for America these cars stand more for what a computer can do.
Point is that when a car stands for something like that... think of it this way we have OLD cars but very few of us put in newer type engines we like older ones that fit the age and such.
These cars are all tech. and 20 years from now I can bet you there will be much better cars just like cars have improved since the muscle car era the only diff. is you may not want to go back and buy some evo because there is a car 10 times better and faster then it sitting at your dealer and if not for some childhood memory then wheat is left to buy it for? It can hardly be collectable if no one wants one.

I think cars like the WRX, todays Mustang, Spec V's, SRT-4's, Evo's, the earlier Eclipse GS-Ts and GS-X's, and dare I say the Cobalt SS will be some of the cars getting restored/rebuilt in 20-30 years.

The next Generation...
When the next generation of ricer racers grows old (like us olde flatulent folks..) They'll be able to kick back and reminisce with the grandchildren about the good OLDE days....
When there was Gasoline...
