On a 5.0l you'd be really happy with a 575 Speed Demon carburetor. The annular boosters in it will make the throttle response and drivability excellent.

Make sure you get the right dist.gear.
You have a roller cam in there.
I like you combo if it had heads and cam I would stick with the 650.
If you are going to leave it stock I would go smaller.
I used a 600 with heads and cam and it was too small.
I did like the BG road demon vac. sec. worked great with stock heads and air gap intake.

EFI to carb
I think you will be happier with a 500-600 CFM vacuum secondary, and my bets are on the 500. A 500 will keep you well supplied up to and over 5500 RPM, and if you arent planning to hot up the engine a lot, why bother going any bigger?

From EFI to carb on a 5.0?
All - I'm putting a 5.0 HO in my 46 Coupe. I have also decided that all of the wires, sensors, looms, etc. look like crap in an old car...sooooo I want to run a carb. I think all i need to do is the following:
rip all the wires off the engine
take the upper/lower EFI intakes off
stick on a RPM air gap intake with a Holley 650
get an MSD dizzy, ignition box, and coil
run the wires from the ignition to the dizzy, and dizzy to coil
throw in wires for the alt and starter
tune the carb until i can drive by a gas station without a sense of impending doom!
Is that about it?
