poorman51 Hey Steve,
Thanks for the link, I am desperate at this point, I can't wait to get my car on the road so I might try the solid mounts. And the budget engine is just what I am building, like he said, a little of my time is better than a little of my budget.

1931 steve You may want to check this out. They are solid mounts but it may take you in the right direction.
Solid mounts are a little on the rough side for a street driver

How to make motor mounts?

This is my first engine swap and the first time I had to deal with motor mounts. I am putting a 350 in a 51 chevy. I had to offset the engine slightly to leave room for the steering column. The engine is hanging in place, but I need to make motor mounts and have no idea where to start. Does anybody have any tips? What gauge steel should I use, should I use angle iron? The motor mounts that are on there look to far off to use, are there other motor mounts that I could change to make work. What do I do about the rubber part? I am not looking to make a ton of horsepower, just cruising and having fun.
